Specialty Cars Limited
1951 Buick Special Deluxe
This Buick is an unrestored survivor that has been with the last owner for 23 years.
The car was sold new at McKelvey Motors in Lakewood NJ.
This Buick still has the original dealer decal applied in the trunk and inside the glove box.
The car is finished in gray and retains 90 percent of its original factory applied paint. The paint has areas that are thin and faded but it is 68 years old. All of the stainless trim is in nice shape, but the chrome is pitted and aging, again, it's an unrestored car, it is not a national show winner. The car is very solid with the only area of rust being a 2 inch area in front of the rear drivers side wheel. The floors and wheel wells are in great shape as the car was under coated from new and always garaged.
It is equipped with the Dyna Flash Straight 8, automatic transmission, and runs and drives very well.
It is currently undergoing a brake job so it will stop as well as it runs.
Headlights and tail lights work along with the dome light. All of the gauges appear to work properly.
The defroster and turn signals work, but the radio and clock do not.
The interior is in reasonable shape for 68 years old. There is definitely wear, but it shows well for what it is.
The car has 5 Coker wide white walls.
A very nice solid unrestored 68 year old Buick at a very fair price!
Great for touring or for AACA HPOF Judging.
